If you are a newcomer, you can use three benefits:

First: GST / HST Credit is the tax credit that returns some of your GST / HST paid on purchases. If you are eligible, you receive a payment every four months. The amount of pay depends on your income and your family.

To apply, you should fill out form RC 151

Second: If you have kids under 18 years, most of the time, you are eligible to receive a monthly payment from the government named Child Befits. The amount of payment depends on your income.

To apply, you should fill out form RC 66

Third: if you or your family have medical expenses, you can deduct the costs from your income when you fill out your tax return.

Don’t forget to keep the receipts.
